If you’re anything like me, you’re probably not a big snacker, but let me tell you, snacking can be just what we need for a pick me up. I often find myself needing just a little bite of something to keep me going and fuelled till the next meal, and I’m not talking about anything naughty (like chips or a chocolate bar, although these can be a nice little treat sometimes).
One of my most fave snacks ever is a piece of seasonal fruit, smothered in nut butter. That’s it. There is no recipe, or added extras. Just that.
Seasonal fruit is readily available anywhere you go, they tend to be more nutrient dense as they haven’t been stored for months, are much more affordable, and don’t forget that mother nature provides us with the nutrients we need to thrive each specific season.
Nut butters are a really good way to get a dose of vitamins, especially B vitamins, magnesium, vitamin E, calcium, antioxidants, fibre, and so much more. Not to mention they are a good source of the good fats and protein, meaning you will feel full for longer, and give your body a boost of those feel good hormones.
So go on, have a snack and enjoy!
