Home Made Granola

While I try to live a healthy life as much as I possibly can, sometimes I find that
it is at times difficult to always afford the best possible ingredients and keep up with the “super-food” craze we seem to be surrounded by.
I decided to start creating my own super-food mixes and blends, and try and stick to basic, whole foods in their most natural state possible, in order to ensure I am getting all the essential nutrients in my daily diet. In order to do this, I feel that it is much easier to do this by making my food fun, flavorsome, and as nutrient dense as possible.

So here I made this delicious granola, using organic ingredients as much as possible, and I am so happy with how it has turned out.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 cups of oats
  • 1/4 cup of almonds
  • 1/4 cup of walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of pepitas
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract
  • 2 tbs almond butter
  • 1/4 cup of coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp rice malt syrup
  • pinch of salt

Method: 

  • Pre heat oven to about 160 degrees celsius.
  • Blend all the ingredients in a large bowl, making sure to combine all the ingredients well. 
  • Spread out on a baking dish and some baking paper evenly and place them in the oven on a low heat for about 15 minutes, making sure to keep an eye on it,  and tadaaaa, easy done!
