Body scrubs are by far the easiest home made skin care product you can make. There is literally as little as two steps involved. Your skin will glow, and I guarantee you don’t need to spend a fortune on expensive brand names, or expose your skin to some not so nice additives.

Here is one of my faves. Now keep in mind, I don’t follow recipes, I tend to just throw everything together and work it out as needed, based on the textures I like.

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Organic unrefined coconut oil
  • Essential oil of your choice (for this scrub I tend to use more invigorating oils such as citrus fruits, peppermint or even frankincense)

Method:

As I mentioned, I don’t have a specific ratio, but it’s basically 1 tbsp of oil to 1.5-2 tbsp of coffee, so depending on your skin type. So if you are more sensitive, I’d stick more to 1.5 tbsp, but if you have dry/rough skin, then go the 2 tbsp.

Add 4-5 drops of essential oil and mix, and store in air tight glass container. Also keep in mind that the coconut oil will solidify at room temperature, so if you find it gets too firm, you can always sit the base of the jar in some warm water so it softens before use.

Another tip, this scrub gets MESSY! So use it in the shower 🙂
